Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, RM 328
Mahan joined NJIT in Spring 2020 as a Ph.D. student. She earned her B.Sc. in mechanical engineering from Shahid Beheshti University in 2018. Her research interest is solid mechanics and materials science.
Amin is a mechanical engineer graduate student at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He joined NJIT as an undergraduate student, earned his B.Sc. in 2019 and carried out projects such as emergency medical drones and snowplow for electric trucks. His research interest is in the mechanics of nanomaterials, materials modeling and FEA simulation, energy storage materials, flight, and space applications.
Ghada is a mechanical engineering BS/MS student, sponsored by King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KA CARE). She joined NJIT in Spring 2017; prior to that, she was a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) student for two years. Her research interests include alternative energy and materials science.
Open Ph.D. Positions
We have opening for two Ph.D. students, starting from Spring 2020 or any time after. We welcome self-motivated students with backgrounds in mechanics, material science and physics. The candidate will be involved in several research-related tasks, such as critical reading and thinking, developing new skills and academic writing. In our group, you will have plenty of opportunities to engage into multi-disciplinary areas, learn novel techniques and employ a remarkable breadth of knowledge, ranging from mechanics and mathematics to physics and biology. If you are interested, please email Professor Ahmadpoor with your most recent CV.
